Mullens 44, Independence 38
Talan Muscari scored a game-high 27 points on 11 of 22 shooting, guiding Mullens to a 44-38 victory over Independence Middle Tuesday in the New River CTC Invitational at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention center.
Indy’s Broc Johnson was the only other player to finish in double figures, netting 20 points in the loss.
Mullens held on despite taking 10 fewer shots and being out-rebounded 25-17.
Mason Bailey added nine points for the Rebels in the victory while Grayson Ashley grabbed 10 boards for Indy.
Independence will play Eastern Greenbrier Friday at 11 a.m. while Mullens will face Greater Beckley on Saturday evening at 8 p.m.
