MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University quarterback Garrett Greene has officially announced his decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
Greene, who served as the Mountaineers’ starting quarterback for the past two seasons, plans to transition to wide receiver at the professional level.
Greene, a native of Tallahassee, Florida, wrapped up his collegiate career with impressive statistics.
Over his time at WVU, he threw for more than 5,300 yards, tallying 36 touchdown passes and 19 interceptions.
Known for his leadership and versatility, Greene expressed gratitude for his time in Morgantown.
“Playing quarterback at West Virginia was an incredible honor that I will cherish for the rest of my life,” Greene shared in his announcement. He thanked WVU head coach Neal Brown, his teammates, and his family for their unwavering support throughout his journey.
Looking ahead, Greene is focused on his next chapter. While he made his mark as a quarterback, he is determined to showcase his skills as a wide receiver in the NFL.
Greene concluded his WVU career with a heartfelt nod to Mountaineer tradition, stating, “Having sung ‘Country Roads’ for the last time as a Mountaineer, I am looking forward to the next chapter of my career.”
