RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A series of events involving ghost hunting escalated into gunfire in Raleigh County, leaving multiple lives at risk.
On February 27, 2025, Fred Shrewsbury was in the 100 block of Eagle Lane in Amigo, WV, reportedly engaged in ghost hunting when he became involved in a verbal altercation with Corde Sargent. During this confrontation, Sargent allegedly fired a warning shot from his residence.
Days later, on March 1, Shrewsbury returned to the location with three juveniles in his vehicle, once again allegedly ghost hunting. Before leaving the area, Sargent fired a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle. Instead of fleeing, Shrewsbury stopped his vehicle, exited, and fired multiple rounds toward Sargent’s residence.
Sargent responded by firing three more shots, two of which struck Shrewsbury’s vehicle, endangering the lives of the three juveniles identified by their initials.
