The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for a third year.
Below are the candidates for the first two weeks of the girls basketball season. Voting will close Thursday, Dec. 19 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here
In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to Tylerjackson@lootpress.com and Rustyudy@lootpress.com.
- Chasity Kennedy, River View – Kennedy averaged 18.6 points per game along with 12 rebounds per contest for the Raiders.
- Kennedy Stewart, Greenbrier East – Stewart averaged 17.2 points per game for the Spartans who upended defending state champion Nitro en route to a 4-0 start.
- Sarah Lilly, Westside, Lilly averaged 14.5 points per game for the Renegades.
- Abi Baker, Wyoming East – Baker averaged 13.3 points per game for the Lady Warriors who got off to a 2-1 start.
- Mya Dunlap, James Monroe – Dunlap started the sedans hot, averaging 19.6 points per game for the Mavericks.
- Kierston Rozzel, Meadow Bridge – Rozze netted 25 points in a win over Man.
- Rumor Barnhouse, Midland Trail – Barnhouse erupted for 26 points in a win over Greenbrier West.
- Riley Meadows, PikeView – Meadows scored in double figures against Shady Spring and Wyoming East with games of 18 and 15 points.
- Abbey Honaker, Princeton – Honaker led Princeton with 17 points in a win over Bluefield.
- Addy Isaacs, Oak Hill – Isaacs averaged 16 points per game across three contests for the Red Devils.
- Abby Persinger, Summers County – Persinger averaged 14 points for game for the Lady Bobcats who got off to a 1-1 start.
