The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for a third year.
Below are the candidates for the third full week of the girls basketball season.
Because so few games were played the week of Christmas, we’ve combined candidates and will name co-players.
Voting will close Friday, Jan. 10 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here
In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to Tylerjackson@lootpress.com and Rustyudy@lootpress.com.
- Maggie Boroski, James Monroe – Boroski averaged 15 ppg for the Mavericks who went 2-0 at the Winter Classic in Summersville.
- Lacey Goodson, Independence – Goodson averaged 17.7 ppg for the Patriots across four games.
- Chasity Kennedy, River View – Kennedy had scoring performances of 24 and 25 points for the Raiders.
- Cadee Blackburn, Wyoming East – Blackburn averaged 10 ppg as East split games against Winfield and Williamstown.
- Addy Isaacs, Oak Hill – Isaacs averaged 15-5 ppg for the Red Devils in a 2-0 stretch.
- Preslee Treadway, Greenbrier West – Treadway scored 19 points with 10 rebounds in a win over River View just days after surgery.
- Ella Botts, Summit – Botts compiled a quadruple double with 19 points, assists and rebounds to go along with 17 steals. She also added 22 points in a. win over Graham.
- Leah Adkins, Greater Beckley – dins had a pair of 30-point games to pace the Crusaders.
- Avery Lilly, Summers County – Lilly scored 19 points in a win over Westside.
- Hannah Fuller, Greenbrier East – Fuller finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Princeton.
- Josie Cross, Beckley – Cross scored 20 points in a win over South Charleston.
- Haley Justice, PikeView – Justice averaged 14 ppg for the Panthers who swept the Wildcats Classic.
- Kirsten Miller, Liberty – Miller averaged 15.5 ppg for Liberty which secured wins over Meadow Ridge and Greater Beckley.
