Summersville – James Monroe held Independence to single digits in each quarter en route to a 47-21 win at the Winter Classic in Summersville.
Maggie Boroski led the Mavericks with 20 points, while Mya Dunlap had nine and Kendall Long scored six.
Harmony Mills had 12 for the Patriots and Lacey Goodson scored eight.

Summersville – River View started slow Friday morning in the Winter Classic at the Summersville Arena and Conference Center and could not recover in a 58-45 setback to Tygarts Valley.
Chasity Kennedy led all scorers for the Raiders with 24 points and four blocks, while Lilly Perkins had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Alyssa Swecker led three players in double figures for Tygarts Valley with 17 points.
