Mercer Christian Academy 65, Elk Valley Christian 35
Summersville – Mercer Christian stormed into Saturday’s WVCAT championship game with a convincing 65-35 win over Elk Valley Christian Friday afternoon.
Kayley Trump did her Thursday performance five points better pouring in a game-high 28 points and collecting nine steals to lead the Cavaliers.
Ella Botts and Bailee Martin added 15 points apiece for Mercer Christian who will now battle No. 1 seed Grace Christian for the girls championship at noon.
Botts also had seven steals, while Karis Trump secured eight rebounds.
Carlee Burdette scored 24 points for Elk Valley Christian who will battle Mount Hope Christian at 10:30 a.m. in the 3rd-place contest.

Summersville – Prior to missing the championship game last season, Grace Christian won three straight WVCAT girls championship titles.
As a result of a 55-45 win over Mount Hope Christian in the semifinal round Friday, top-seeded Grace Christian is back in the championship picture.
Sydney Cicenas led a balanced attack for Grace Christian with 16 points, while Jenna Turner added 12 points. Carly Adkins and Heidi Adkins added eight points apiece and Abigail Stepp scored six.
Macie Pack had 16 for Mount Hope and Eden Miller scored eight. Sophie Pack had seven and Mady Sole added six.
Grace Christian and Mercer Christian will battle for the WVCAT girls title at noon Saturday.

Summersville – Victory Baptist Academy overcame a sluggish fourth quarter to defeat Morgantown Christian 45-44 in the consolation round of the WVCAT.
Evie Dillon scored 18 points to lead the Saints, while Landri Flohr scored 11. Emma Bush and Molly Ward added six points apiece.
Mallory Hartley led the Mustangs with 13. Abby Gutta and Madison Bailey scored 12 points apiece.

Summersville – Cross Lanes Christian outscored Wood County Christian in each quarter and cruised to a 53-18 win Friday.
The Warriors advance to play Victory Baptist Academy in the 5th-place game Saturday at 9.a.m.
Baleigh Velepec exploded for 24 points to lead Cross Lanes Christian, while Breanna Webb added 12. Eliza Bacchus and Kiesten Edge added six points each.
Camryn Yoho had eight for Wood County and Stella Dunn scored seven.
