Braxton – Greenbrier West raced out to a 24-9 lead at the half, holding off Braxton County for a 47-35 victory in the Braxton County Holiday Championship game.
Ava Barclay scored 12 points in the win while Abigail Thomas pitched in 11. Thomas and Maddie Fields earned all-tournament honors.
West improves to 7-1 and will host Summers County on Jan. 3.

Cadence Stewart drained seven 3s Thursday as Greenbrier East beat Porter Gaud, SC. at the Carolina Invitational at Ashley Ridge High School in South Carolina.
Stewart scored a game-high 35 in the win while her younger sister Kennedy pitched in 11.
Asa Sander led Porter Gaud with 26 points in the loss.
East will play in the consolation game Friday at 9 a.m. at Cane Bay High School.
