Double-double machine Harmony Mills poured in 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Independence past county rival Shady Spring 46-32 Thursday in Shady Spring.
Lacey Goodson had another strong game with 17 points and Kamryn Wooten grabbed 10 rebounds for the Patriots who moved to 8-2 on the season.
The Tigers were led by Kylee Barnes with seven points, while Kendra Pizzino and Lillian Hatfield added six points each.

Adrienne Truman led the Grizzlies with 15 points, including seven in the final quarter, while Alexis O’Dell added all seven of her points in the decisive fourth period. Madison Coffman also scored seven for Nicholas.
Rumor Barnhouse had 14 points for the Patriots with Jayla Barnhouse and Raelyn Morris scoring eight points each.
