Summers County 70, Bluefield 24
Hinton – Gracie Harvey had a monster game in the Class AA Region 3, Section 2 opener against Bluefield, pouring in 28 points as the Lady Bobcats defeated Bluefield 70-24 to advance to the championship game.
Maggie Stover added nine as nine different Lady Bobcats scored Saturday.
The loss eliminates Bluefield and ends the Beavers season at 4-14.
Summers County improves to 15-6 and will go on to face Wyoming East in the sectional championship one Wednesday in New Richmond.

Institute – Karis Trump connected on six 3-pointers Saturday as Mercer Christina won the WVCAT title with a 55-32 win over Teays Valley Saturday at West Virginia State.
Kayley Trump and Bailee Martin each added 11 points for the Cavaliers in the win.
Matalee Barnett led Teays Valley with 17 in the loss.
Ella Botts and Karis Trump were named all-tournament while while Kayley Trump secured tournament MVP honors.
Mercer Christina improves to 16-7 and will play in the WVCEA tournament at Summersville on Thursday.

Fairlea – Cadence Stewart poured in 34 points to lead Greenbrier East past Mingo Central 75-45 Saturday.
Layla Pence added 13 points and had eight rebounds, while Daisha Summers scored 10 points and had seven rebounds.
The Miners were led by Madison Curry with 20 points. Mingo Central also played without freshman guard Addie Smith in the second half after she left the game with an injury and did not return.
Greenbrier East (15-7) will host Oak Hill Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the opening round of Class AAA region 3, Section 2 play.
