Kenzie Morgan scored a game-high 12 points to lead Westside past Independence 44-18 Thursday in Coal City.
Ryleigh McNeely added seven points for the Renegades, while Kaitlyn Lester and Shyann Jenkins had six points apiece.
Sarah Bragg led the Patriots with eight points and Alli Hypes had four.
Westside hosts Bluefield next Thursday, while Independence hosts Nicholas County Monday.

James Monroe 44, Midland Trail 42
Hico – James Monroe built an eight-point lead after three quarters and held on for a 44-42 win over Midland Trail, snapping the Patriots nine-game win streak.
Haley Hunnicutt scored 11 points to lead a balanced scoring attack by the Mavericks. Adyson Hines scored eight and Maggie Boroski scored seven. Sarah Mann and Mary Beth Meadows added six points apiece.
Addison Isaacs led all scorers for Trail with 21 points and Meghan Gill had nine.
Trail was its own worst enemy at the line make just two of its 14 attempts on the night.
James Monroe will play at Oak Hill Saturday, while Trail is scheduled to play Cross Lanes Christian Friday.
