Girls Sectional Roundup: James Monroe, Summers County, Greenbrier West, Meadow Bridge and River View advance to sectional title games

Summers County 54, Bluefield 20

Hinton – Summers County used a strong defensive effort to stifle Bluefield and earn a 54-20 sectional victory Tuesday in Hinton.

The Lady Bobcats gave up just seven points in the first half of the win.

Gracie Harvey led the charge with 22 points while Abby Persinger netted 10.

Cara Brown led Bluefield with six point in the loss.

Summers will travel to Wyoming East on Thursday, hoping to upset the Lady Warriors for the second straight season in New Richmond.

James Monroe 95, Mount View 30

Lindside – James Monroe was never challenged Tuesday, claiming a 95-30 victory over Mount View in its sectional matchup.

Maggie Boroski led the Mavericks with 28 points while Mya Dunlap netted 18. Abby Mathis added 16, Mary Beth Meadows 11 and Ava Dunlap 10 in the win.

Tay Wray led Mount View with 15 points.

James Monroe will host River View Thursday in the sectional championship.

Charmco – Maddie Fields scored a game-high 21 points and Brilee Redden had 19 points to lead Greenbrier West past Richwood 64-38 Tuesday in the opening round of Class A Region 3, Section 2 play.

Preslee Treadway added 12 points for the Cavaliers who now host Meadow Bridge for the sectional championship Friday.

Chloe Cox led the Lumberjacks with 14 points.

Baylee Jarrett 5, Carlee Dillard 6, Addison Dudley 3, Chloe Cox 14, Alexxis Keiffer 4, Savannah Moose 6.

Preslee Treadway 12, Maddie Fields 21, Brilee Redden 19, Lacey Walker 5, Sam Holliday 3, Kenna Fields 4.

 

Meadow Bridge 48, Webster County 42

Meadow Bridge – The Wildcats outscored the Highlanders 30-18 in the second half to bring home a 48-42 win Tuesday in Class A Region 3, Section 2 action.

Kierston Rozell led Meadow Bridge with 18 points, while Sierra Simmons and Lily Hayes each drilled three long balls for nine points.

Charity Reichard added eight points for the Wildcats who travel to Greenbrier West Friday night for the sectional championship game.

Hannah Wayne led Webster with 15 points and Allie Key had 12.

River View 51, Montcalm 27

Bradshaw – River View outscored Montcalm in each quarter to defeat the Generals 51-27 in Class A Region 3, Section 1 play Tuesday.

Kaci Hatfield paced the Raiders with 16 points, while Abigail Pruitt and Kaylee Blankenship scored 12 points each.

Mady Hudgins and Summer Williams each scored eight points for Montcalm.

River View will now play James Monroe Thursday night in Lindside for the sectional championship.
