Charleston – No. 2 Wheeling Park took care of business in the quarterfinal round of the Class AAAA Wednesday evening, popping No. 7 Washington 85-40 in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Park suffocated the Patriots from the panhandle, allowing just 10 points in the opening half of a game that was decided in those first 16 minutes.
Reigning Mary Ostrowski Award winner Alexis Bordas poured in a game-high 28 points on 9 of 20 shooting while Lala Woods scored 13 and grabbed 11 boards.
Lexi Adams led Washington with 16 points in the loss.
Wheeling Park returns to the Class AAAA semis where it will face No. 6 Huntington on Friday at 9:30 a.m.
