Charleston – Amara Jackson nailed a left-handed game-winning layup just before time expired to deliver No. 6 Huntington a 51-49 victory over over No. 3 Spring Valley Wednesday morning in a Class AAAA quarterfinal game.
Huntington used a 22-9 effort in the third quarter to take control of the game before Spring Valley tied it with just under 12 seconds remaining.
Jackson’s final bucket was enough to earn her top scoring honors with 18 points while Jada Turner complemented her with 17.
Allie Daniels led Spring Valley with 14 points and 15 rebounds in the loss.
