Charleston – March Madness struck the Charleston Coliseum Thursday and Lewis County was one of its catalysts.
The Minutemaids made 22 of 27 free throws against East Fairmont, knocking off the previously undefeated, top-ranked Bees in a 62-57 Class AAA semifinal victory.
The win sends No. 4 Lewis to the state championship game where it will face No. 3 Nitro on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Lewis placed four players in double figures with Payten Goodwin’s 13 points leading the charge. Kenley Rogers led East Fairmont with 12 points on 6 of 21 shooting from the floor.
