Charleston – Ripley scored as many points in the third quarter as it did in the entire first half and capitalized on that surge to beat Lewis County 41-30 in the Class AAA quarterfinals Thursday night at then Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
With the win the Vikings will face No. 1 North Marion on Friday in the semis.
Sophie Nichols led Ripley with 14 points while Abby Eastman netted 11. Lewis had three separate players score eight points each but failed as a team to find a rhythm on offense, shooting just 22.9 percent from the field despite taking 13 more shots than the Vikings.
