Charleston – Addie Adkins connected on eight 3-pointers Tuesday afternoon, lifting No. 2 Wayne to a 75-38 win over No. 7 Keyser in the Class AAA quarterfinals at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Adkins’ broke the previous Class AAA record for 3s in a game on her final one of the afternoon. The 16 3-pointers made by Wayne as a team shattered the previous record of 12 set by Bridgeport in 2011 and tied by North Marion last year.
Adkins’ 24 points were second only to teammates Jayce Sammons’ 25.
Keyser was led by Autumn Kerchner’s 11 points in the loss.
Wayne will face No. 3 Nitro in one of the Class AAA semifinal games on Thursday at 11:15 a.m.
