CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey has expressed strong support for President Donald Trump’s executive orders aimed at boosting domestic energy production.
Morrisey said these measures will strengthen West Virginia’s energy sector, create jobs, and contribute to the nation’s goal of energy independence.
“As America’s energy state, our nation’s energy independence begins right here in West Virginia,” said Governor Morrisey. “To lead the way, we will partner with President Trump, unleash our full potential, and ultimately become energy dominant.”
He added, “It takes energy to be the shining state in the mountains, and that’s why West Virginians applaud President Trump for fulfilling his promise to unleash American energy.”
President Trump signed multiple executive orders designed to reshape federal energy policy, including:
- Declaring a national energy emergency.
- Directing federal agencies to suspend, revise, or rescind policies that limit domestic energy production.
- Ending the Biden administration’s electric vehicle mandate.
- Promoting expanded energy production to reduce costs for consumers.
- Withdrawing the United States from the Paris Climate Treaty.
Morrisey, who campaigned on expanding West Virginia’s energy industry, reiterated his commitment to working with the Trump administration.
In his inaugural address, he vowed to support coal and natural gas production, stating that under his leadership, those industries would “win like never before.”
