CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Governor Jim Justice has issued a State of Preparedness ahead of Tropical Storm Debby for all fifty-five counties throughout the State of West Virginia.
The declaration, according to the Governor’s team, will allow for the posturing of resources and personnel by the West Virginia Emergency Management Division. This will set the stage for efficient response to any emergency which should emerge as a result of the storm.
Governor Justice himself remarked on the State of Preparedness declaration, commenting that state entities are preparing for all potential emergency situations which could occur, including flooding and other weather-related happenings.
“While we need the rain in West Virginia, we need to absolutely be ready for the potential impact Tropical Storm Debby may bring,” said Governor Justice. “I have ordered our state agencies to prepare to respond immediately if necessary. We’re ready to provide all possible resources should flooding or other weather incidents occur.”
All West Virginia residents have been encouraged to continue to observe weather conditions through reports issued by local media and to adhere to guidance provided by emergency officials with regard to the developing weather situation.
