BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Beckley Area Foundation (BAF) has announced two new grant opportunities which have recently become available.
The Mac’s Toy Fund grant will be available through September 30, 2024, and supports Christmas programs for children.
Mac’s Toy Fund has been providing assistance to Raleigh County families for nearly 100 years, providing resources to provide a memorable Christmas experience for children. Over the years, this has entailed the donation of bikes, toys, coats, and other items which have been provided to families throughout the area facing the greatest need.
The initiative will be accepting applications for grants to charitable local organizations that will be engaged in the distribution of coats, toys, and items of a similar nature to children throughout the area.
“While running our Christmas event, everyone was so grateful that they have such a supportive community and caring people to turn to who will be there for them,” said Friends of Coal Ladies Auxiliary Board Member, Tina Martina.
Also available for application is the Students First mini-grant program. Initially launched by Beckley Area Foundation in 1996, the program is geared at local educators grades Pre-K-through-12 in the Raleigh County area.
The grant was established in order to provide support for innovative and creative instructional projects for both private and public schools.
“I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to create exciting and refreshing learning opportunities for my students,” said Fairdale Elementary teacher, Jessica Dunbar.
The Students First mini-grant program will be accepting applications until September 15, 2024.
