WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Greenbrier County man faces charges after firing a gun towards another person.
According to court documents, on April 30, 2021, White Sulphur Springs police were dispatched to shots fired call, a white male wearing a black coat and blue jeans. During the investigation, five individuals were identified inside the home. One victim told police that the suspect, Lester King, had taken his Polaris side by side without permission.
When he returned to the home, he confronted King through a window, which led to an argument. The victim stated that King then pulled out a small .22 caliber revolver and aimed it at him, and shot one round at him. The victim then states he grabbed a handgun from his lockbox and fired one around King in self-defense. The other victims confirmed and supported the series of events.
When Police interviewed King, he said he did take the side by side and returned it. He said the victim was already holding a handgun, and he grabbed one. King loaded the gun, then stated that the gun just went off. He went on to say he didn’t know how the gun went off because he blacked out.
King is charged with five counts of wanton endangerment involving a firearm and one count of brandishing a deadly weapon.
King is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 12,000 dollar bond.
