LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office has announced the date for its upcoming civil service examination for deputy sheriff applicants.
The written exam will be administered on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Greenbrier East High School, 273 Spartan Lane, Lewisburg. Officials stressed that candidates should not arrive late.

Applications may be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office in both Lewisburg and Rupert. Once submitted, applicants will receive a letter of receipt and further instructions by mail.
In order to take the exam, all applicants must register through the West Virginia Division of Personnel here.
The deadline to register is Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 1 p.m. Applications will not be accepted after that time.
Those who successfully complete the written examination will be invited at a later date to participate in the physical agility test.
That portion of the process requires candidates to complete a 1.5-mile run in 14 minutes and 36 seconds, 18 push-ups in one minute, and 28 sit-ups in one minute.
