GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Greenbrier County teenager is behind bars after allegedly threatening to kill his mother if she didn’t allow him to return home, just a day after a verbal domestic incident led to his removal from the residence.
Deputy K.L. Helmick of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded to the situation after Lt. Hudnall received a written statement from the boy’s mother, claiming her 20-year-old son, Johnathan R. Reece, had called her with a chilling ultimatum: let him come back home or he would kill her.
The incident follows a prior response by law enforcement on April 26, where tensions between Reece and family members had reached a boiling point. Multiple relatives reported that Reece had made disturbing statements, including threats to kill and even eat members of his family. Some claimed he had a so-called “kill list,” although these threats were reportedly made when the intended targets were not present.
Fearing for their safety, family members made it clear they did not want Reece to return to the home.
Deputy Helmick located Reece at a residence in Rainelle, where he was arrested without incident and charged with Domestic Assault. He was transported to the Lewisburg Detachment of the Sheriff’s Department for processing and served with a Domestic Violence Protection Order before being taken to Southern Regional Jail.
