PUTNAM COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic disturbance at a local grocery store led to the arrest of a Putnam County woman after she allegedly threatened to kill her mother and violated a court-ordered bond agreement.
On May 17, 2025, Trooper D.S. Weis responded to a 911 call from inside the Save A Lot on Teays Valley Road. The caller reported that her daughter had threatened her and was still sitting in a white Crown Victoria in the parking lot.
Upon arrival, Trooper Weis located the vehicle and made contact with Leanna Pauley, who was seated in the passenger seat. According to the report, Pauley appeared to be under the influence of alcohol—struggling to concentrate and emitting a strong odor of alcohol.
Pauley admitted she had argued with her mother during a grocery run but appeared surprised her mother had called authorities.
Inside the store, Meadows told the trooper she had picked up her daughter to help with groceries when the argument escalated. She said Pauley became angry after she refused to stop for beer and began threatening to kill her. Pauley allegedly grabbed the steering wheel while Meadows was driving, prompting her to pull into the store’s lot and flee inside to call 911.
Further investigation revealed Pauley was out on bond from an April 19 domestic battery arrest involving her grandmother, with strict conditions prohibiting contact with her mother.
Pauley was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault and violation of bond. She was processed at the West Virginia State Police detachment in Winfield and later transported to Western Regional Jail.Â
