Harold H. White, 83, of Charleston, WV, passed away suddenly on Monday, April, 15, 2024, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Harold was born August 5, 1940. He was raised in the High Coal Camp in Sylvester, WV, and graduated from Sherman High School, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He also played and coached American Legion Baseball and was the Golden Gloves Champion in 1956. He attended Morris Harvey College, managed several Kroger stores, sold cars and owned a convenience store in Dunbar, but his greatest joys were to be on the golf course or in a poker game . . .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Verlie White, his brothers, Ed, Bill, Harry, Gordon and Jimmy, and sister, Sissy.
Harold is survived by his wife, Betsy, his son, Scott White (Stephanie), and his daughters, Tracy Boggs, Jody Deraimo (Okey), Amy Casto (Greg) and Beth Ring (Robert), and stepchildren, Susan Graves, Mary Ryan (George), and Rich Jacquet (Liz Ann). He was so proud of his grandchildren, Morgan, Trey, Lindsey, Jennifer, Madison, Josie, Nathan, Halee, Rebecca, Evan, Jenna, Phillip, Carson, Tucker and Shane; and his great-grandchildren, Brady, Cooper, Sylvia, Clementine, Bridgette, Creedence, Delilah.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Village Chapel Presbyterian Church, 3818 Venable Avenue, Charleston.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
