BERKELEY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A head-on collision in the early hours of Tuesday morning has left three individuals injured, with one in critical condition.
Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident, which occurred around 2:50 a.m. on November 5 in the 4000 block of Hedgesville Road.
Deputies found two vehicles involved: a 2010 Toyota Prius with Maryland plates and a 2021 Toyota Corolla registered in West Virginia.
According to initial reports, the Prius was traveling westbound and crossed into the eastbound lane, where it collided with the Corolla.
The impact pushed the Corolla backward and off the right side of the road, while the Prius came to a stop partially off the road in the westbound lane.
The driver of the Prius, a 50-year-old man from Baltimore, was airlifted to Inova Hospital in critical condition.
His passenger, a 47-year-old woman from Baltimore, and the 27-year-old driver of the Corolla, a resident of Berkeley Springs, were both taken to Berkeley Medical Center, where they are listed in stable condition.
The accident remains under investigation by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department accident reconstruction team, led by Sergeant Anaya.
