SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Early Easter Sunday morning, Team 900 was involved in a high-speed vehicle pursuit in Greenbrier County.
The pursuit took place for over 45 minutes and across a large area of Southern WV. Multiple agencies assisted in the pursuit, including the WV State Police, Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department, and the Hinton Police Department.
During the pursuit, the suspect avoided multiple spike strips deployed by the officers. The suspect showed an absolute disregard for public safety and drove the wrong way down various streets in Hinton at an extremely high rate of speed for the area.
At that time, the pursuit was ended when Deputy Lester and Deputy Ward used their cruisers to pin the suspect’s vehicle against an embankment. This was only done to end the pursuit and ensure that the risk to public safety was eliminated. The driver, Levi Meadows of Greenbrier County, was taken into custody, and multiple charges are pending.
Team 900 is proud to say that no officers or any member of the public were harmed during the course of the pursuit.
Meadows is charged with multiple charges and is in Southern Regional Jail under a 22,000 dollar bond.
