CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Members of the House of Delegates came together on Wednesday for the first House Floor session of the 86th West Virginia Legislature.
The session saw a handful of Resolutions presented for consideration and subsequently adopted. These included HR 1, HR 2, and HR 3.
Prior to Delegates departing for a recess period of the session – which will continue until 6:45pm on Wednesday evening – several members were recognized and provided information regarding upcoming committee meetings for the session.
Delegate Hardy (R-97) – Vice Chair of the House’s Committee on Finance – stated that the Committee on Finance will be meeting tomorrow morning, January 11th, at 9:00 AM in the Finance Committee room.
This meeting will include a budget hearing from the Department of Revenue, and a budget presentation will also be heard at.3:30 PM in the Finance Committee room.
Delegate Kelly PhD (R-8)Â – member of the Committee on the Judiciary – addressed Speaker Hanshaw (R-62,) noting that the Committee on the Judiciary will meet on Friday morning at 9:30am, with the agenda to be posted at a later time.
Vice Chair of the Committee on Health and Human Resources, Delegate Tully (R-49) disclosed that the committee will meet tomorrow, Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the East Wing Committee Room 215. Republican members of the committee will caucus in the Terrace Office at 1:30pm prior to the meeting. The agenda for the meeting is expected to be posted on Wednesday afternoon, and it was requested that participants bring their laptops along for the session.
Vice Chair of the Committee on Technology & Infrastructure, Delegate Cannon (R-21) stated that the committee will meet tomorrow, January 11, 2024, at 12:45 PM.
