CHARLESTON, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – Monday marked the 41st day of the 2022 Legislative Session. During floor session, the House passed several bills, one of which was House Bill 4631.
This bill establishes a bone marrow and peripheral blood stem donation awareness program and directs the Bureau for Public Health to create a website to inform and promote donation awareness.
According to the bill’s literature, the bureau will create an electronic brochure with information obtained from the National Marrow Donor Program. The brochure will be designed to inform patients of the option to become a bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell donor by registering with the program and answer common questions about these types of donations.
The bill passed unanimously in the House on Monday. It is now pending in the Senate.
