WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – A Republican candidate for the West Virginia House of Delegates has been disqualified from the race after moving out of state, according to election records.
Tyler Bowen advanced through this year’s Republican primary for House District 27, which includes portions of Cabell and Wayne counties.
The State Election Commission met Monday and determined that Bowen failed to meet eligibility requirements for the office.
Following the decision, the commission authorized the Republican Executive Committee to select a replacement candidate to fill the vacancy on the November ballot.
The Republican replacement will face Democratic candidate Ric Griffith in the November general election.
