CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Several members of the West Virginia House of Delegates on Sunday partook in announcing the official launch of the West Virginia Freedom Caucus.
The launch of the assembly, timed to coincide with Constitutional Day, came with a mission statement to “protect personal freedoms, shrink the size of government and governmental control, reinforce traditional family values, reduce spending and taxes, and promote Constitutional Conservative values as intended by the Founding Fathers of the United States.”
The caucus will look to spearhead the Conservative movement within the State Legislature, and was announced under the banner of “Constitutional Conservatives for West Virginia.
Caucus leadership will include Delegate Bill Ridenour (R – Jefferson, 100), Delegate Geno Chiarelli (R – Monongalia, 78), Senator Patricia Rucker (R – Berkeley, 16) as Vice Chair, and Delegate Geoff Foster (R – Putnam, 20) as Chair.
“We will obey our oaths to defend the Constitutions of the United States and West Virginia against all enemies. We will uphold the Founding Fathers vision of Liberty, Representative Democracy, Limited Government, Free Enterprise, and Truth. We will combat tyranny, corruption and waste, to shepherd in a revitalization of West Virginia and our economic well-being.
We will stand for the rights of all states to govern themselves, and will fight federal despotism. Mountaineers have made it clear that they will be Free, and we will do everything in our power to preserve that Freedom,” said Delegate Foster.
