MORGANTOWN, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – On Friday, February 18, West Virginia University Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bob Huggins will host the 10th annual Fish Fry.
Since 2013, Huggins has welcomed fans, friends, and cancer survivors to his namesake Fish Fry to support causes he cares about while enjoying good company and delicious food. Proceeds from the event, presented by Little General Stores, benefit the Norma Mae Huggins Endowment at the WVU Cancer Institute and Remember the Miners Flagship Scholars Program.
Huggins established the Norma Mae Huggins Endowment in 2003 to honor his mother, who passed away after a long battle with colon cancer. To date, the Endowment has raised more than $8 million in support of cancer research and care at the WVU Cancer Institute.
Remember the Miners honors coal miners through events, media, and its flagship Scholars Program, which has raised more than $150,000 and funds scholarships for mining engineering students at the WVU Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources.
Huggins hopes to raise a record $1 million at this year’s Fish Fry to commemorate the event’s 10-year anniversary.
This year’s event will be held at the Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center at Mylan Park- located at 111 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
