JANE LEW, WV (LOOTPRESS) – I-79 in West Virginia is shut down due to flooding.
According to West Virginia 511, I-79 between Weston and Jane Lew is shut down due to multiple reports of flooding.
Multiple other local roadways in the surrounding area remain completely impassable.
This comes after multiple rounds of storms dropped several inches of rain in Lewis and Upshur counties leading to major flooding.
As of late Tuesday night, the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources had been involved in 33 water rescues.
A State of Emergency has been declared in all 55 counties.
