GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman is dead and a man is seriously injured following a violent incident that occurred shortly after midnight Wednesday, Sept. 3, on Morgan Cemetery Road just south of Ronceverte.
According to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a disturbance call and encountered a man attempting to leave the area in a white SUV.

The driver initially stopped but refused to exit the vehicle. When deputies attempted to remove him, he sped away. One deputy pursued the suspect while another remained at the residence.
During the search of the property, deputies discovered a severely injured man partially under a camper. A further check of the residence revealed an adult female who appeared to have suffered serious injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased was identified as 36-year-old Quailynn Bass of Florida. Authorities said her cause of death appears to be blunt force trauma, though an official ruling will come from the medical examiner’s office.
The injured man, identified as 52-year-old Brian Loudermilk of Greenbrier County, was transported to a trauma center for treatment. His injuries also appeared to be caused by blunt force trauma.
Meanwhile, the suspect fled toward Fairlea but was stopped at the Shell station on Route 219 with assistance from Lewisburg, Ronceverte, and White Sulphur Springs police.
After a taser deployment and brief struggle, deputies took the suspect into custody. He was identified as 42-year-old Michael E. Loudermilk Jr. of Greenbrier County.
Loudermilk has been charged with murder along with several other offenses. The Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Team executed search warrants on his vehicle and home while continuing to collect evidence.
Sheriff Bruce Sloan Baker commended the responding deputies for their quick actions and thanked the assisting agencies for their support.
