WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – The Secretary of State’s Office in West Virginia reported that 993 new businesses were registered statewide in June.
Gilmer County saw the highest percentage of new business growth at 2.05%, with a total of seven new business registrations. Other counties experiencing notable growth included Raleigh, Pocahontas, Monroe, and McDowell County.
The top five counties in terms of new business growth were:
1. Gilmer County – 2.05% growth
2. Raleigh County – 1.54% growth
3. Pocahontas County – 1.50% growth
4. Monroe County – 1.42% growth
5. McDowell County – 1.38% growth
The top five counties in terms of total businesses registered were Kanawha, Monongalia, Berkeley, Cabell, and Raleigh. Kanawha County led with 103 new registrations. Over the previous 12 months, West Virginia registered 13,890 new businesses. Mason County led all counties with a growth rate of 19.61% during that period.
