WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS) – Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, of Lafayette, Indiana, was arrested Saturday, August 16, in the District of Columbia and charged with making a series of threats on social media in which she threatened to kill President Trump, announced U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
Jones was charged in a complaint in U.S. District Court with threatening to take the life of, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, and transmitting in interstate commerce communications containing threats to kidnap any person or injure another person.
“Threatening the life of the President is one of the most serious crimes and one that will be met with swift and unwavering prosecution. Make no mistake—justice will be served,” said U.S. Attorney Pirro.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated law enforcement partners, especially the Secret Service Special Agents from New York and Washington, D.C., for their tireless commitment to protecting our leaders and our nation.”
“Protecting the President of the United States is our highest priority, and every potential threat is addressed with the utmost seriousness,” said Special Agent in Charge Matt McCool of the U.S. Secret Service, Washington Field Office.
“Special Agents from New York and Washington, DC, working in close coordination with prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, acted swiftly and decisively to neutralize this alleged threat before it could escalate. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated professionals who worked tirelessly to advance this investigation and safeguard our nation’s leadership.”
According to court documents, between August 2 and August 9, Secret Service agents observed that the Instagram account “nath.jones” had posted threats about the President.
The user called for President Trump’s removal, referred to him as a terrorist, labeled his administration a dictatorship, and accused him of causing unnecessary loss of life during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Facebook between August 6 and August 15, “Nath.Jones” allegedly continued to post threats. In an August 6 post directed at the FBI, Jones wrote: “I am willing to sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him and cutting out his trachea with Liz Cheney and all The Affirmation present.”
On August 14, in a post directed at U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, she allegedly wrote:
“please arrange the arrest and removal ceremony of POTUS Trump as a terrorist on the American People from 10-2pm at the White House on Saturday, August 16th, 2025.”
On August 15, the Secret Service interviewed Jones, during which she called the President a “terrorist” and a “nazi.” She allegedly stated that if given the opportunity, she would take the President’s life and would kill him at “the compound” if necessary.
Jones also told agents she had a “bladed object” that she would use to “carry out her mission of killing” the President, adding that she wanted to “avenge all the lives lost during the Covid-19 pandemic,” which she attributed to the Trump administration’s vaccination policies.
The next day, Jones joined a protest demonstration that marched from Dupont Circle around the White House complex. Afterward, the Secret Service interviewed her again. During the second interview, she admitted to making threats the previous day but denied having a present intent to harm the President.
She confirmed she was the owner of the Facebook account “Nath Jones” and had posted the threatening statements.
Law enforcement then arrested her.
The case is being investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Josh Satter.
