BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – New River Community and Technical College hosted an Interprofessional Day, providing students from various healthcare programs with a unique opportunity to engage in real-life scenarios through simulations.
This event, held on April 24th on the college’s Raleigh County Campus, brought together students from programs including Associates Degree Nursing, Licensed Practical Nurse, Phlebotomy, Social Work, Physical Therapy Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Assisting, and Surgical Technology to enhance their practical skills and knowledge in healthcare settings.
Throughout the day, students immersed themselves in simulated healthcare environments, allowing them to apply their classroom learning to realistic scenarios. From emergency response simulations to clinical assessments and patient care scenarios, students gained valuable hands-on experience under the guidance of faculty and industry professionals.
One of the highlights of Interprofessional Day was the mock interviews conducted by healthcare industry members and potential employers, giving students the opportunity to practice their interviewing skills and gain valuable feedback from professionals in the field. By simulating real-world job interviews, students gained confidence and insight into the hiring process, preparing them for future career opportunities in healthcare.
