DRY BRANCH, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Kanawha County man was arrested Tuesday following reports of an intoxicated individual threatening others inside a residence.
According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, shortly after 5:00am, Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of Ronda Road in Dry Branch.
Operators with Metro 911 had received reports of an intoxicated male inside the residence waving a firearm at people. Upon arriving at the scene, Investigating Deputy T.Z. Bowles was able to identify the subject as Emil Burgess – 23 years old of Dry Branch, WV.
Deputies were informed by a female inside the residence that Burgess was arguing with her, and as the argument escalated her son had attempted to intervene. At this point Burgess reportedly pulled out a handgun, pointed it at both the female and her son while threatening to “off them both.”
A 9mm handgun was located by Deputies at the scene and Burgess was placed under arrest for two Felony counts of Wanton Endangerment with a Firearm. He is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail. No injuries were reported to have occurred as a result of this incident.
