BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man faces Domestic charges following an incident earlier in the month during which an altercation took place at a Mercer County residence.
According to reports from Patrolman B.M. Lambert of the Bluefield Police Department, on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 12:19 am Lambert responded to a residence at a Cumberland Road apartment complex in Bluefield for reports of an intoxicated male.
Upon arrival at the scene Patrolman Lambert was waved down by a female at the front door who identified herself as Petris Prie-Chavis.
The female stated that the male within the residence, Paul Justice Jr., was intoxicated and would not settle down and go to sleep.
She further stated that the two had been engaged in an argument during which Justice pushed her multiple times and had threatened to kill her.
Speaking to Justice, who was lying on the bed mumbling at the time, the officer was told that nothing had happened and that the two had simply engaged in an argument over $550.00.
Reports indicate that at the time of the interaction Justice did indeed appear to be intoxicated.
The female advised that the two had been in a relationship for approximately three years and that Justice had moved into the residence shortly after she had over a month prior to the incident.
Patrolman Lambert placed Paul Justice Jr. under arrest for Domestic Battery and Domestic Assault before transporting him to the Bluefield Police Department to be processed. There, Justice was placed in a holding cell to await arraignment.
