BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Big Lots is making a comeback, with new job postings indicating that several local stores will soon reopen under new ownership.
While most Big Lots locations have closed in recent months, many are expected to reopen while retaining the Big Lots branding.
Variety Wholesalers, the parent company of Rose’s Discount Stores and Maxway, has acquired between 200 and 400 Big Lots locations, while selling off the leases of some others.
The official Big Lots Facebook page generated significant buzz on Wednesday, confirming the brand’s return with the following announcement:
“BIG NEWS!
Your new BIG LOTS! is coming soon!
New ownership, fresh products & unbeatable closeouts at prices so low, you’ll want to shout!
Want a sneak peek? Stay tuned for updates!”
Local job listings show that hiring is now underway for Big Lots locations in Oak Hill, Beckley, Princeton, and Charleston.
At this time, it remains unclear what specific products the reopened stores will carry and whether there will be any notable changes to the Big Lots brand.
