JACKSON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)— A Cottageville man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor following an investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, 36-year-old Caleb D. Bourgeois was taken into custody overnight after deputies executed a detailed search warrant. Investigators allege Bourgeois placed a hidden camera inside a camper during the 2025 Jackson County Fair, where it recorded children changing clothes without their knowledge.
Authorities say the investigation revealed Bourgeois later used the illicit images of local children to generate AI-produced videos depicting the children performing sexual acts.
Bourgeois is an active member of the Jackson County Junior Fair Board, according to investigators.
The Sheriff’s Department described the case as voluminous and complex, warning that additional victims may exist. Officials are urging any parents or guardians who believe their child may have been affected to contact the Sheriff’s Department immediately at (304) 373-2290.
The investigation remains ongoing.
