OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Oak Hill High School girls basketball program has announced the hiring of Jade Legg as its new head coach, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Lady Red Devils.
Coach Legg brings with her a lifelong dedication to basketball, a standout playing career, and a deep desire to lead at the high school level — a dream she says is now a reality at Oak Hill.
A native of Hancock County, Legg was a 1st Team All-State selection at Oak Glen High School, where she scored over 1,000 career points and helped lead her team to a state championship.
She continued her career at Division II Wheeling Jesuit University, where she was a three-year starter, a two-time NCAA tournament participant, and a WVAIC champion.
She also received the Heart and Hustle Award, recognizing her grit, leadership, and work ethic.
In addition to her playing career, Legg has remained active in the sport through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes program and by coaching youth, including her own children.
She joined the Oak Hill school system two years ago and has spent that time coaching at the middle school level, preparing for the transition to high school coaching.
“I’m incredibly thankful for the foundation Coach Compton and his staff have built,” Coach Legg stated.
“Now it’s time to take the next step — to create a competitive, high-level program built on toughness, discipline, and a true love for the game. We’re coming in with a fresh mindset and a focus on building mentally and physically strong athletes who play with heart and play to win.”
