BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Jan-Care Ambulance is opening its EMT training program to the public, giving people ages 17 and older an opportunity to prepare for a career in emergency medical services.
Applications are being accepted through October 31, with the course scheduled to begin at the end of November.
The company’s training center typically serves Jan-Care employees. However, the ongoing need for qualified EMS personnel, particularly in rural communities, prompted the company to expand access. Applicants do not need to work for Jan-Care to participate.
The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training. According to Jan-Care, some of its classes have achieved pass rates as high as 100% on National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians exams.
Jan-Care serves communities across 10 West Virginia counties, along with Wythe County, Virginia, and Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina. The company said having trained responders available is especially important throughout its rural service areas.
Prospective students can find course details and apply at emtcourse.jancare.com.
