HARRISBURG, PA — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a Franklin County jury has convicted a former area youth baseball coach of dozens of sexual assault charges for crimes against two adults and three children.
Justin Biser, 45, of Waynesboro, was found guilty Thursday of 65 offenses, including sexual assault, indecent assault, child pornography, and invasion of privacy.
According to testimony presented during the three-day trial earlier this week, Biser targeted young people from 2021 through 2023, getting close to them through his position as a coach.
“The brave survivors of this heinous conduct refused to let the defendant avoid accountability, and I commend the jurors for reaching a just verdict,” Attorney General Sunday said. “The survivors trusted the defendant as a role model and mentor, and he betrayed that trust. My office will continue to uphold its commitment to protect children and vulnerable people from predators.”
According to prosecutors, Biser assaulted two girls in 2022 and 2023. He gave one of the girls alcohol before sexually assaulting her. He assaulted the other girl after she fell asleep at his home.
He video recorded one of the other victims, and later, from prison, directed a family member to get rid of the digital files.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Julia van Leeuwen and Senior Deputy Attorney General Jaime Keating.
