CHAPMANVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Logan County Sheriff’s Department and West Virginia State Police investigated a threat Tuesday morning that led to a local high school being placed on lockdown.
According to a press release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, a social media post regarding a possible incident at Chapmanville Regional High School was reported to the LCSD and WVSP.
Both agencies immediately followed up on leads and attempted to locate the suspect. At approximately 7:15 a.m., a juvenile suspect was taken into custody by Chapmanville Regional High School Prevention Resource Officer Corporal Derrick J. Miller of the LCSD.
Reports of another threat involving a firearm were investigated but was deemed as not credible since no weapon was found.
