MOUNT HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An accident in Mount Hope sends one to the hospital and temporarily closes a roadway. Sheriff Mike Fridley provides the following information regarding this incident.
Just after 2:30 this afternoon September 27, 2023, deputies responded to an automotive accident on Main Street in Mount Hope. After the initial crash, the vehicle caught fire and was quickly extinguished. A juvenile was driving and was the sole occupant. At this time, deputies believe the juvenile had a medical emergency before the accident. The roadway was closed for approximately one hour and is now open.
Assisting was the Mount Hope Fire Department and General Ambulance.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
