WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities are currently investigating a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
According to the Wheeling Police Department, Â the department along with the Wheeling Fire Department responded to Bethany Pike – WV 88 – near Howgait Place with regard to a single vehicle crash which involved three people at around 3:15 a.m.
The vehicle reportedly was traveling southbound when it lost control, causing it to crash into the guardrail.
All three occupants inside the vehicle were transported from the scene to Wheeling Hospital, where a juvenile male passenger succumbed to his injuries.
The other two occupants – a juvenile female and an adult male – received treatment for minor injuries sustained from the accident.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident according to authorities, and the incident remains under investigation by police.
