FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fairview man was sentenced Tuesday on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
Prosecuting Attorney for Fayette County, Anthony Ciliberti, Jr., reports that, Shawn A. Kuhn, 53 of Fairview, Marion County, was sentenced by Circuit Judge Paul M. Blake, Jr. to no less than one year and no more than fifteen years in prison for felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
The defendant pled guilty to this offense on July 14, 2022, and must serve at least one year in prison before becoming eligible for parole.
The charges stem from an October 5, 2021 incident in which a vehicle stop was conducted on U.S. Route 19 in Fayetteville for defective equipment.
The driver of the vehicle along with Mr. Kuhn, the passenger, provided conflicting accounts when questioned by officers.
A request was made for K-9 assistance, resulting in a positive indication and subsequent search of the vehicle.
This search revealed a quantity of methamphetamine, as well as a handgun and other suspected controlled substances.
The Fayetteville Police Department investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Sarah F. Smith.Â
