HILLDALE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – K9 Walker with the Summers County Sheriff’s Department is the latest in a series of K9 Unit members this week to be recognized for their roles in drug related arrests.
According to reports from the Summers County Sheriff’s Department, a traffic stop was conducted on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 by Chief Deputy T.S. Adkins and Deputy J.S. Ward in the Hilldale area.
Deputy D.A. Lester was requested to deploy his partner, K9 Walker, to the scene.
The vehicle of the subject was indicated upon, and a subsequent search revealed “a large quantity of narcotics.”
The driver of the vehicle, Christopher Thomas, 47 of Hinton, was arrested for Driving While License Revoked 3rd offense, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule 1 Substance, and No Motor Vehicle Inspection.
“We are glad to have K9 Walker within our ranks,” read a release from the Summers County Sheriff’s Department. “He will get extra belly rubs tonight.”
