(LOOTPRESS) – Kohl’s has announced significant real estate changes slated for 2025, which include the closure of its San Bernardino E-commerce Fulfillment Center (EFC) and 27 underperforming stores across the United States.
The San Bernardino facility, which has been operational since 2010, will shut its doors in May 2025 when its lease expires.

The location is one of 15 EFCs and distribution centers in Kohl’s supply chain network.
According to the company, advancements in technology at newer facilities and increased fulfillment capabilities from store locations have reduced the need for the San Bernardino EFC.
Additionally, 27 Kohl’s stores in underperforming locations will close by April 2025.
While the company emphasizes the strength of its overall store base, the decision to close these locations was based on their underperformance.
“All associates have been informed and offered a competitive severance package or the opportunity to apply for other roles within Kohl’s,” the company stated.
Kohl’s CEO Tom Kingsbury explained the rationale behind the changes, stating, “We always take these decisions very seriously. As we continue to build on our long-term growth strategy, it is important that we also take difficult but necessary actions to support the health and future of our business for our customers and our teams.”
